How does Coaching work?

Coaching is a series of one-to-one discussions between yourself and your coach, whereeach session typically lasts for one hour, covering the areas that you want to discuss and resolve. The number of sessions will depend on the nature of your own challenge, be it personal, work or business. All coaching session are conducted in a strictly confidential manner and can be conducted either face-to-face, by phone or by the internet eg on Skype.

Coaching can be used to address any wide range of issues but it is important that, at any one stage, the focus is on one area. For this area an end goal is established and, if this goal is too big to accomplish in one session, then a number of ‘journey goals’ are agreed to achieve this ultimate end goal. For each journey goal, the coaching process will initially examine your current situation, including identifying possible barriers or concerns that are blocking your progress. Different strategies are then analysed on how to move forward and at the end of the coaching session an action plan is produced to help progress towards the identified end goal.
